Maxwell Court Trial: the Ghislaine Maxwell Sentencing

Twenty Years – Ghislaine Maxwell Sentencing for Child Sex Trafficking

Ghislaine Maxwell Sentencing : The former girlfriend of pedophile Jeffrey Epstein will spend 20 years in prison.

Socialite Ghislaine Maxwell was found guilty in December 2021 of recruiting and grooming girls to engage in sexualised massages and other acts with Jeffrey Epstein.

From the throne room at Buckingham Palace to being found guilty of sex trafficking, it is an epic fall for the British daughter of mogul Robert Maxwell.

As survivor Kate said she was proud to help hold Maxwell accountable.

“Today. I can look at Ghislaine and tell her I became what I am today in spite of her and her efforts to make me feel powerless and insignificant. And I will cast that empowerment on my daughter,” she said.

In her sentencing submission, the former socialite claims she met Epstein after her dad died and she was ripe for manipulation.

So why was she on Epstein’s flight logs seven months before Robert Maxwell’s death?

Her own sentencing document is packed with lies, omissions and arrogance. Not one word of sorrow for her survivors, in our opinion.

In seeking 55 years jail, the government was mincing no words:

“If anything stands out from the defendant’s sentencing submission, it is her complete failure to address her offense conduct and her utter lack of remorse. Instead of showing even a hint of acceptance of responsibility, the defendant makes a desperate attempt to cast blame wherever else she can.

On that score, the defendant’s attempt to cast aspersions on the Government for prosecuting her, and her claim that she is being held responsible for Epstein’s crimes, are both absurd and offensive.

Maxwell was an adult who made her own choices. She made the choice to sexually exploit numerous underage girls.

She made the choice to conspire with Epstein for years, working as partners in crime and causing devastating harm to vulnerable victims. She should be held accountable for her disturbing role in an extensive child exploitation scheme.”

The government maintains Maxwell is also lying about her prison conditions. It wrote to the Judge Alison Nathan:

“The defendant’s claims are inaccurate—and in fact, the defendant has enjoyed remarkable privileges as a high-profile inmate that vastly exceed the benefits accorded to the average inmate. It is unsurprising that a woman who had led a life of incredible luxury should complain about her life as a prisoner, but that fact does not come close to meriting leniency at sentencing, much less the extraordinary degree of leniency the defendant seeks.”

Ghislaine Maxwell is not an heiress, villain, or vapid socialite. She has worked hard her entire life. She has energy, drive, commitment, a strong work ethic, and desire to do good in the world. She has supported friends and family through tough times and personal crisis and currently is assisting women in her unit at the MDC.

How could the Oxford-educated daughter of disgraced British media baron Robert Maxwell, have been convicted sex trafficking?

If there’s one word to describe the Maxwell family, it is drama.

Her childhood under the tutelage of her fraudster father and self-obsessed mother was certainly dramatic. And while her siblings have never been accused of sex trafficking, there are accusations of fraud.

Decades earlier, when Ms. Maxwell was just a child and her father was a Member of Parliament, U.K. authorities found a “hit list” of potential kidnapping/assassination targets in a safehouse used by the Irish Republican Army. Ms. Maxwell’s name was first on the list. This unnerving experience has haunted her

During the four-week trial, the government alleged: “Ghislaine Maxwell made her own choices. She committed crimes hand in hand with Jeffrey Epstein. She was a grown woman who knew exactly what she was doing.”

The charges alleged the sexual exploitation of girls as young as 14.

According to ABC News: ”As the verdict was read, Maxwell appeared to show little reaction behind a black mask. She stood with her hands folded as the jury filed out, and glanced at her siblings as she herself was led from the courtroom.

Prosecutors called 24 witnesses to give jurors a picture of life inside Epstein’s homes — a subject of public fascination and speculation ever since his 2006 arrest in Florida in a child sex case.“

Four women in testified about abuse as teenagers in the 1990s and early 2000s at Epstein’s homes in Florida, New York and New Mexico.

One incident occurred in Maxwell’s townhome in London.
